Quality Inspector – Aerospace

- 1st and 2nd shifts.
- Optional 4x10 schedule: Monday–Thursday.
- Openings: Entry-Level to Senior-Level positions.

Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Inspector to join our aerospace team in Simi Valley, CA. This role is critical in ensuring that components, materials, and finished products meet the stringent quality and reliability standards required in the aerospace industry. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in precision measurement, compliance with AS9100 standards, and the ability to perform quality inspections across various stages of production.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed quality inspections of products, materials, and components throughout production stages.
- Perform precise visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical assemblies, and subassemblies (electrical and/or mechanical experience required).
- Utilize inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches, ring gauges, and other precision instruments to evaluate aerospace components, including wires and sensors.
- Document inspection results, including acceptance or rejection reports, and maintain accurate records.
- Identify and report design, process, or efficiency issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze statistical data to verify compliance or deviations from quality standards.
- Perform internal audits and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented.
- Inspect engineering designs, tooling, assemblies, and final products using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Create and review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports to comply with AS9102 standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Uphold and enforce technical quality assurance procedures throughout the production process.
Required Qualifications
- 2–5 years of experience in aerospace quality inspection or a related field.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of inspection tools, including:
- Calipers, height gauges, micrometers, pin/block gauges, V-blocks, surface inspection tables, and comparators.
- Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality management standards.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T per ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Experience reviewing blueprints, drawings, and parts lists.
- Familiarity with aerospace materials, including castings, forgings, molding, stainless steel, and electronic components.
- Proven track record of conducting internal audits and documenting results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience creating First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in compliance with AS9102 standards.
- Strong understanding of Dimensional Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards for completing first articles (FAI).
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
